An investigation into the death of young American peace activist Rachel Corrie, who was crushed by an Israeli armored bulldozer in the Gaza Strip in March 2003, that offers a meditation on youth, idealism and political utopia.

Celebrating its third year, The Voices Forward Festival includes a line up of artists and events not to be missed, including George Khleifi, Micha X Peled, Issa Amro, Ori Kleiner, Kamilya Jubran, Jason Sherman, John Kameel Farah, Shelley Saywell and Richard Fung, Active Stills and Breaking the Silence, just to name a few.  

This year’s festival features exciting and new elements into our program including, a book launch featuring George Khleifi, music with Kamilya Jubran and John Kameel Farah, theatre with Jason Sherman, photography by Active Stills and Breaking the Silence, multi media art installations by Richard Fung, Heb2.tv and Btselem and film including Heart of Jenin, Jerusalem Cuts, What I Saw in Hebron. This years festival will take place within Toronto Venues such as, The Gladstone Hotel, XEXE Gallery, Factory Theatre and The Royal Cinema. Over five days and in the heart of the Toronto we are offering you an exhilarating experience of the peoples and cultures from Israel and Palestine. 

On opening night, in the Gladstone Hotel Ballroom $15.00 tickets include a book launch with George Khleifi, a music performance with John Kameel Farah and a special performance and conversation with Kamilya Jubran and closes with the film 'Telling Strings' which features Kamilya and her family.

All films happening at the Royal Cinema on College Street can be purchased at the door a half hour before each film, $5.00 for students and seniors, $10.00 for adults, and a $50.00 pass for adults, $25.00 pass for students and seniors, which gets you into all films at the Royal Cinema.
